“Today at sunset, Ontarians of Muslim faith and Muslims around the world celebrate Eid al Fitr—commemorating the end of Ramadan.
“Throughout the holy month of Ramadan, many Muslims fasted from sunrise to sunset and came together for a communal meal to break the fast each day. Families across the province will gather tonight to share a meal, celebrate, and build the bonds of friendship with loved ones.
“During Eid al Fitr, members of the Muslim faith are encouraged to extend forgiveness to others, and show generosity and hospitality to all those they encounter. This celebration and its rich traditions add to the mosaic of diversity that is Ontario.
“I extend my best wishes for a wonderful Eid al Fitr.
