Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Easter

“Easter is the most holy and significant time for Christians. The Easter season commemorates the suffering, death, and resurrection of Christ.

“While we enjoy freedom, we remember the many throughout the world who are persecuted for their beliefs. Across the Middle East, Christians and other religious minorities continue to be targetted. Freedom of conscience and religion is a fundamental human right, and people should be free to worship without fear of violent reprisal.

“Ontario’s Christian community is as diverse as our province itself, with each community expressing a common faith in unique ways.

“Easter is a time for families and friends to gather in celebration of faith, and in the spirit of peace, love, forgiveness, and charity.

“Please accept my best wishes for a joyful and hopeful Easter!”

Statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Easter

The following is a statement from Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown on Easter:

Sunday March 27th is Easter, the most important holiday on the Christian calendar. On this day, people of Christian faith give expression to their belief in Christ’s resurrection.

While we enjoy freedom in Canada, too many are persecuted around the world, simply for their beliefs.  In the Middle East, Christians and other minorities face genocide at the hands of Daesh.

Easter is a time to gather with family, a time to reflect and give thanks for what we have in our lives.

Ontario’s diverse Christian community will be celebrating Easter in a wide variety of colourful ways, including through processions and Church services.

On behalf of the Ontario PC Party, please accept my best wishes for a joyous and hopeful Easter holiday spent with family and friends.”
